Today, we will spend the entire day exploring the highlighted temples of the Angkor complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Southeast Asia’s most important archaeological sites. The complex preserves the magnificent remains of several capitals of the Khmer Empire, featuring intricate and naturalistic Khmer architecture.
Our first stop is Ta Prohm, a temple partially reclaimed by the jungle and surrounded by tropical forests. Originally a monastery and Mahayana Buddhist school, it was built by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th to early 13th century.
Next, we visit Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious monument. Constructed in the early 12th century by King Suryavarman II as his mausoleum, Angkor Wat combines two main styles of Khmer architecture: temple-mountain and classical galleries.
In the afternoon, we explore Angkor Thom, the last and grandest capital of the Khmer Empire, built by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th century. Highlights include Bayon Temple, Baphuon, Elephant Terrace, Leper King Terrace, and the Royal Palace area. We will also visit Preah Khan Temple, another masterpiece built in the same era.
Return to your hotel, and the evening is free for you to enjoy Siem Reap by night at your leisure.

Meal: Breakfast
After breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our northeast journey to Beng Mealea. Constructed in the distinctive Angkor Wat style by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Beng Mealea is considered a prototype of Angkor Wat and also served as the king’s burial ground.
Lunch will be served in a local home before we return to Siem Reap. On the way back, we will visit Banteay Srei, the smallest yet most exquisite temple in the Angkor complex. Dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, Banteay Srei was built entirely from red sandstone in the 10th century, showcasing some of the finest artistic carvings of the Khmer era.
We will also explore the ancient Hariharalaya complex, the earliest temple site in the Angkor area, known as the Roluos group. Here, we visit the main temple, Bakong, officially constructed in the 9th century under King Indravarman I. Bakong combines temple-mountain architecture with both brick and stone materials, forming a stepped pyramid shape.
Return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon, and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

After breakfast, we will drive south of Siem Reap to embark on a short cruise on Tonlé Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. The local communities living along the lake’s banks earn their living through fishing and agriculture. The lake is home to rich biodiversity, including over 300 species of freshwater fish, as well as snakes, crocodiles, turtles, otters, and a variety of water birds.
In the afternoon, we will transfer to Siem Reap International Airport for your flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel, and the evening is free for you to relax or explore the city at your leisure.
Accommodation: Hotel in Phnom Penh
Meal: Breakfast
Today, we will explore several of Phnom Penh’s most magnificent sites. Situated at the confluence of the Mekong, Tonlé Sap, and Bassac rivers, Phnom Penh was once considered the “Paris of the East.” Its complex history, including the period under French colonial rule, has deeply influenced the city’s culture and architecture.
Our first stop is the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, which documents the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975 to 1979. During this period, Tuol Sleng detained about 17,000 people, most of whom were accused of betraying the regime.
Next, we visit the National Museum, built during the French colonial era with a blend of French and Khmer architectural styles. The museum houses Cambodia’s largest collection of Khmer art and religious artifacts, making it a top destination for archaeology and cultural studies.
We then explore the Royal Palace, a complex constructed in 1866 that served as the residence of Cambodian kings, except during the Khmer Rouge era. Adjacent to the palace is the Silver Pagoda, renowned for its floor paved with over 5,000 handmade silver tiles and its collection of culturally and religiously significant artifacts.
In the evening, you are free to explore on your own, or opt for a leisure cruise on the Mekong River with a private catered dinner prepared by a well-known chef. The menu features grilled and BBQ dishes, accompanied by local drinks, while you enjoy the sunset and watch the daily life of floating villagers and fishermen along the riverbanks. After the cruise, return to the hotel.
