Today is dedicated to a full-day exploration of the Angkor Highlighted Temples Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Southeast Asia’s most important archaeological treasures. The complex preserves the magnificent remains of the Khmer Empire’s capitals, featuring numerous monuments with intricate and naturalistic Khmer architecture.
Begin at Ta Prohm, a temple almost reclaimed by the jungle and surrounded by tropical forests. Originally a monastery and Mahayana Buddhist school, it was built by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th to early 13th century. Its intertwining roots and ancient stone walls create a mystical atmosphere.
Next, visit Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious monument. Constructed in the early 12th century by King Suryavarman II as his mausoleum, Angkor Wat combines mountainous and temple-style Khmer architecture, making it a masterpiece of design and devotion.
In the afternoon, explore Angkor Thom, the last and largest capital of the Khmer Empire, located near Tonle Sap Lake. Highlights include Bayon Temple, Baphuon, the Elephant Terrace, the Leper King Terrace, the Royal Palace area, and Preah Khan Temple, built by King Jayavarman VII in the 12th century.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Khmer dinner with Apsara dance performance. Apsara is a classical Cambodian dance created by the Royal Ballet of Cambodia in the 12th century, originally performed by women in elegant traditional costumes. Today, both men and women perform this graceful cultural art, making it a truly enchanting experience.

After breakfast, drive south of Siem Reap to embark on a short cruise on Tonle Sap Lake, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake. Experience a boat trip through the floating fishing villages of Chong Kneas, a must-visit just like the Angkor temples. See floating houses, local markets, and schools, and watch the locals navigate the lake in engine-powered boats. Along the way, you may notice women in dugout boats selling a variety of goods.
The lake is home to over 300 species of freshwater fish, as well as crocodiles, turtles, otters, and numerous water birds. Most of the people living along the banks make a living through fishing and agriculture, giving a fascinating glimpse into traditional Cambodian life.
Return to your hotel for lunch on your own, then in the afternoon, explore the countryside by quad bike. Ride through villages, paddy fields, and scenic landscapes, enjoying the sights, sounds, and fresh air of rural Cambodia. If timed right, you may even catch a romantic sunset over the fields.

Situated at the confluence of the Mekong, Tonle Sap, and Bassac Rivers, Phnom Penh has long been known as the “Paris of the East.” Its architecture, streets, and culture are deeply influenced by Cambodia’s tumultuous history, including the French colonial period.
Begin your tour at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former high school turned prison during the Khmer Rouge regime (1975–1979). Around 17,000 people—mostly soldiers accused of betrayal—were detained here, providing a sobering insight into Cambodia’s recent past.
Next, visit the National Museum, built during the French colonial era, blending French and Khmer architectural styles. It houses the largest collection of Khmer art and religious artifacts in the country, making it a must-see for history and culture enthusiasts.
Continue to the Royal Palace, a complex of elegant buildings built in 1866, which served as the residence of Cambodian kings (except during the Khmer Rouge era). Adjacent is the Silver Pagoda, renowned for its floor of over 5,000 handmade silver tiles and its collection of precious cultural and religious objects.
Return to your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. You may choose to relax or explore the city on your own.
