Expand all Collapse allThe day starts with a visit to the temple on Doi Suthep Mountain. The mountain's temple is one of the most historically and spiritually significant places in Thailand. So, a lot of Thais and foreigners come to experience the special magic of this holy place.
Here, you can then enjoy the various art workshops that include local silk fabrics and handmade paper umbrellas.
Today we will drive to Chiang Saen, a former capital of the Lanna Kingdom.
We visit Opium museum, showing the opium’s history in the past in Thailand. This exhibition portrays every angle of the story, from the history of the Golden Triangle, the origin of opium, the opium war to drug smugglers, etc.
Having lunch at the local restaurant at the Golden Triangle, then taking a boat trip along Mekong Kong River to see Thailand, Burma & Laos, confluence at the Golden Triangle. The Golden Triangle is known for its beautiful scenery. Some of the sights in the area include a large golden Buddha image seated in a boat, an ancient temple on a hill and the House of Opium Museum
