Once we cross Sarasin Bridge connecting Phuket Island to the mainland we will enjoy some quiet back roads with great views of the Andaman Sea. A small climb at the end of the stage brings us in to Khao Lak the destination for the first night. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the beach, swim in the pool, get a massage before enjoying a delicious meal in the evening with your cycling friends.
We continue north and during the ride we will visit several of Tsunami memorial sites in the area, as Khao Lak was devastated in the 2004 Asian Tsunami. Once we pass the historic town of Takupa we head away from the coast and towards the rain forests of Khao Sok national park. Well known for its dense vegetation and limestone hills, the park is very impressive. You will be seduced by its thriving jungle, its lake and its animal species, among which you will be able to see tigers, leopards, elephants or small Malay bears. During the later part of the ride is a medium climb to master. In the afternoon relax and walk in the jungle surroundings.
The first part of today’s stage will be cycling through the dramatic limestone cliffs, our route then heads south towards Phang Nga Bay which is famous for its limestone peaks, the bay was immortalized in a James Bond film, "The Man with the Golden Gun". Ko Tapu, a curious conical limestone formation that seems to magically float on the shallow waters of the bay, and James Bond Island will immerse you in the film's well-known adventure atmosphere
