Itinerary
Expand all Collapse allAfter breakfast, we will enjoy a full day city tour of Hanoi starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex. This famous site contains the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh
Our first stop is to visit the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh. Located in the center of Ba Dinh Square, this is the most important monument of Vietnam in which Ho Chi Minh’s body is preserved. This site only opens on Tuesday to Thursday and weekends from 08:00 – 11:00.
The next destination is the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. The Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house was completed on May 19th, 1958 as a birthday present for uncle Ho and becomes a symbol of his simple life.
Close to this complex is the One Pillar Pagoda. The pagoda looks like a lotus blossoming from the square pond. It was constructed in 1049 by King Ly Thai Tong based on his dream of Goddess of Mercy seating on a lotus flower and giving him a boy. In 1954, it was destroyed by the French and then restored in 1955.
We follow this with the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam. This temple provides an opportunity to learn more about education in Vietnam since 1000 years ago until recent history.
In the afternoon, visit the impressive Ethnologic Museum that is dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. This museum has both indoor and outdoor exhibition area with the most popular architectural styles of house’s ethnic people. The museum closes on every Monday.
In the late afternoon, you continue your trip with a walking street food tour with a private guide in which you can experience the most outstanding traditional Vietnam cuisines such as Banh My, Bun Cha and enjoy local beer (draught beer) with potato chips at the “international” corner Ta Hien where each night, hundreds of travellers and a large number of local flock here to hang out. Speicially, all seats just need small plastic stools, drink beer and observe relaxly the local daily life follows the characteristic way at the Old Quarter. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi
Declared as a World Heritage site by the UNESCO in 1994, Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam’s most spectacular natural attractions. Nearly 200 km far from Hanoi, the bay is dotted with 1600 limestone islands, capturing visitors’ attention.
Your early morning departure from the hotel to Halong Bay takes you on a journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta. You’ll get to see vivid green rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life. Arrive in Halong and board a sharing wooden boat for an overnight cruise to explore the natural beauty of the bay. Here you will see the magnificent views of the limestone karsts in turquoise waters, deserted beaches, amazing caves, lively floating fishing villages, and hidden lagoons. Soak in the dramatic sunrise over the bay on sundeck or enjoy a fresh cup of coffee or tea as you view the fishermen of Halong Bay. Explore the splendid Sung Sot cave where stalactites take on numerous shapes and forms. A wholesome breakfast is served before cruising back to Halong City. Arrive back at the pier for disembarkation, journey to Noi Bai airport for your flight to Danang and Hoian.
The ancient town of Hoian is a small town in Central Vietnam. In the 16th and 17th centuries, Hoian was a busy international commercial port for foreign merchants. Today, Hoian is popular for its peaceful beauty, eclectic architecture, tailors and cafes
Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel for your overnight. Spend your romantic evening by wandering around the Hoian town with colourful lanterns and warm atmosphere by your own.
Our tour begins at Cua Dai wharf by Vietnamese traditional boat. It takes about 1 hour. On the deck, you have time for relaxing, sightseeing. At the location, you take part in some activities such as swimming, snorkelling and joining in “Walking underwater Tour“. During the tour, fish of all shape and colours, local marine life will surround you. Then, we will move to the Unique ecological Bai Chong beach of a Word Biosphere Reserved Cham islands recognized by UNESCO by a small boat. Having a delicious lunch, after lunch, guests can swim or just relax in the hammocks. The tour finishes around 3pm.
We then transfer you back to Hoian town for a fascinating walking tour including of ancient merchants' houses, a Phuc Kien temple, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, and the colorful riverside markets, workshops where artisans make Hoi An's famous lanterns.
Overnight in Hoian
We start the day (8.15am) with a drink at Hai Scout Café (98 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoian Ancient Town, our meeting point. Visit Hoian’s colourful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. We will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and purchase some of the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later. We board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Hoian River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. This is a chance to view local river life, so make sure your camera is handy. On arrival, we explore the cooking school’s herb and vegetable garden, before learning about some of Hoian’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours – each dish is first demonstrated by the Red Bridge chef’s, before we prepare the same dish ourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration).
After the lesson, we sit down and eat exactly what we have cooked.

Our cooking class finishes at approximately 1:00 PM and we then transfer back to central Hoi An. And we then continue to experience Hoi An river culture on our unique sunset kayak excursion.
We set off for our afternoon sunset paddle by either US Military jeep or by bicycle. Riding on village roads, we explore the villages and hamlets and the shrimp lakes where shrimp are raised by the local people. We stop to enjoy the sights and sounds of the villages and the stunning water scenery as we make our way to the Co Co river. Here, it’s time to throw off our shoes and get wet! We paddle along the river getting up close to the local fishing and other industries and learn why the river is so important to local people living here. After a couple of hours enjoying the fascinating river and its never ending activity, we return to our floating bar: a bar housed in a coracle boat that floats on the water to greet you after your kayaking journey. The coracle boat floating bar will be stocked with the beverage you selected before leaving for your tour (You can enjoy your local beer, your fruit smoothie, mineral water or coke). Float on the water and watch the sun go down as you enjoy your cold drink. Before we bid farewell to our kayaks and make the return journey, take floating lanterns, light the candle and make a wish and watch it float down the river.
