Toum Tiou Cruise

Company: Compagnie Fluviale du Mékong

Type: Sharing, 10 cabins

Destinations:

Vietnam - Cambodia

Toum Tiou’s steel hull and sleek low draft make it the only true vessel that sails the Mekong. Toum Tiou and its sister vessel, Toum Tiou II, are the only ships which can sail from the Siem Reap pier to Saigon’s harbor. With other vessels, passengers have to disembark mid-river and continue on land. Moreover, Toum Tiou’s low draft allows it access to the remotest of villages and to gently hug the river line, affording passengers priceless views of people, flora and fauna – hardly touched by modernity. Toum Tiou was custom built for passenger privacy, intimacy, comfort and safety.

Introduction

The French Colonial-style interiors extend to dark wooden paneling in the library and lounge, which has a very clubby feel, and simple wooden floors and lots of windows in the spacious restaurant. There is an outdoor sitting area at the top of the ship, with an elegant wooden deck and useful canopy to screen passengers from the sun, as well as space to sit in the sun, too. Wi-Fi is available in all public areas and there is a small shop selling souvenirs.

Accommodation

Fully-paneled in wood, with charm and comfort in mind, Toum Tiou 1 is designed in keeping with the local style. With the tasteful decoration of a bygone era, the Toum Tiou has 10 cozy double cabins with private shower, a large lounge area, a panoramic viewing space to the front, a half-covered bar-restaurant to the rear and a roof patio. Air conditioning, hi-fi system and library are provided. Toum Tiou 2 is not just another river boat, it differ to others. This charismatic Mekong boat has 14 cozy cabins following the colonial style of her mother, Toum Tiou. Each cabin is built with noble wood in an elegant style, has its own A/C, hot water shower, security safe and a large window for spectacular view of the nature. Public areas like a panoramic, open restaurant which is matchless on the River and a spacious sun deck also add to be facilities of the boat. Toum Tiou 2’s kitchen is famous for its variety of Asian food and smiley cooks. Toum Tiou 2’s equipment also contains a powerful filtration/chlorination system for water safety. Laundry service is also available onboard.
