Stepping out across the peaceful semi-ruin of a section of the Great Wall is like walking in the footsteps of the past. Far from the tourist crowds we are able to get a great sense of the scale and majesty of this remarkable piece of engineering without rushing through in a big group. We trek along various contrasting sections of the wall, both dilapidated and rebuilt stretches. The old portions have a romantic feel, but the new ones may look odd to people who are used to seeing their ancient monuments in a poor state, though since the wall was constructed over a 2000 year period, the new sections are just a continuation of that process. We will get closer to day-to-day life in rural China before returning to Beijing, a city steeped in history yet plunging headlong into modernit.

After arriving into Beijing, the afternoon is free to relaxOvernight.
This morning we leave the capital and head into the countryside to the Great Wall, a 2 hours journey to the north west of the city. On the way, we will visit Changling Tomb and Shen Lu (Sacred Way), the tomb of the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
After lunch, we will start to our hiking in the Badaling Great Wall. The Badaling Great Wall is known as one of the world's nine plugs and is the essence of the Great Wall. It is unique in the Ming Great Wall. The section of the Great Wall is steep and condescending. It is an important military barrier in the Ming Dynasty and an important barrier to the capital Beijing. The walk today is relatively challenging and with uneven topography, but the views are worth every effort! Then walk 5 kilometers to the foot of the Great Wall. We will spend the night in a guesthouse close to this section of the wall.
Trekking distance: 5km

Today we take a short drive (40 mins) to Mutian Yu. At this lesser-visited section, the Wall is an impressive sight indeed, snaking off across mountains and valleys into the distance. As one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall, the Mutian Yu section used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs. There are 22 watchtowers on this 2,250-metre-long section. We trek to Jiankou where we enjoy the hospitality of a local guesthouse.

Trekking distance : 8km

This section of the Great Wall was built along a mountain edge and remains completely wild, with towers clinging impossibly to the steepest of ridges. Highlights of the day include the 'Nine-Eye Tower', an important command post during the ancient wars, and the 'Beijing Knot', which marks the connection with the previous section with a famous pine tree. This area is the most photographed section of the Great Wall due to the unique construction style combined with stunning scenery. We walk along this portion before transferring to Gubeikou to spend the night. Overnight in Homestay

Trekking distance : 5km

Today we will start to our walking along the original and ruined Great Wall. Then we can travel by walking along Jinshanling Great Wall until 5 East Window Tower. Then, return to Gubeikou and stay at Gubeikou Inn.
The Jinshanling Great Wall starts from Longlingkou in the west and ends at Wangjing Building in the east, with a total length of 10.5 kilometers.Along the line , there are 67 enemy buildings with different buildings. The second is about five places. It is the best-preserved section of the Ming Great Wall. It is called the essence of the Ming Great Wall by experts. The mountains are set up with danger and the water is plugged. The glory of the city is like a steel wall. The carvings are lined up, such as the Guards of the Armed Forces, "When the husband is off, Wanfu is not open." It is known for its open vision, dense enemy buildings, and unique architectural defense systems. on the Great Wall of Jinshanling, you can see the enemy buildings with different internal structures such as the boat roof, the four-corner zenith, the octagonal well top, and the dome. The military defense system is extremely strong, with barrier walls, battle platforms, turrets, observation decks, Lei Shi Kong, perforating, blocking horse walls, supporting walls, and fighting walls, etc., layered fortification, can be described as solid soup.
Trekking distance: 8km
Today we hike along Gubeikou's Panlongshan Section. This portion keeps the original essence of the Wall and will transport us back to the time of the Tang Dynasty. Drive to Toudaoling village, we will hike up the mountain and pass many watch towers until we reach the unique 24 Window Tower (3 level tower). Once here, we will leave the wall and drive to Gubei Water Town.  Overnight in a local guesthouse.

Trekking distance : 14km
Today we can hike up the mountain and walk along the Simatai Great Wall from the easternmost side of the Great Wall until to the 10th tour.
The Great Wall of Simatai section is known for its danger, confidentiality, oddity, skill and fullness. The danger means that it is built on the ridge of the knife and axe. It is extremely dangerous. The "tight" refers to the distance between the enemy buildings. The two enemy buildings are tens of meters apart, the farthest is only 300 meters, and the average spacing is only 140 meters. “Qi” means that the Simatai Great Wall Mountain is steep and magnificent, and there is a lake under the mountain (the cold spring and the hot spring meet), the blue waves are rippling, forming a beautiful scenery of the lake and the mountains; “Qiao” is reflected in the barrier wall of the step by step. "Into" can be attacked and retreated; "all" means that the architectural styles of the tower and the enemy building are strange and diverse.
After the hiking of The Great Wall of Simatai, we go to visite Gubei Water Town, and return to Beijing.
We take a morning walking tour of the city's hutongs (narrow alleys) to see what is left of old Beijing and its traditions. We also visit Tian’anmen Square; the largest in the world and able to hold over a million people. Later in the day, we visit the Forbidden City with its innumerable courtyards and temples. Take a rickshaw ride through the traditional hutongs.  This evening, enjoy Kung Fu show. Overnight in Beijing
