Visit the old Palace of King H’Mong before having lunch then continue to Xinman to stay in a little peaceful guesthouse. From Xinman, we expect a full day of challenging mountainous climbs to reach Ha Giang. One of the best parts of this trip is the ride from Ha Giang to Dong Van, admiring not only a beautiful view of the mountains but also an imposing view of the rock plateau that won’t disappoint any motorcyclists. Arrival in Dong Van, walk around the town to see colorful markets or visit some interesting ancient houses which are more than 200 years old. Move on to Pi Leng pass – one of the longest and most beautiful passes in North East of Vietnam, the sheer scale of it all will definitely amaze you. Explore the villages of the Nung people who still make incense, paper, farming implement without modern machines then ride straight up to the Northern border between Vietnam and China to see the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam – Ban Gioc. It is one of Viet Nam’s best-known waterfalls, fed by the Quay Son River that marks the border with China. Continue to Nguom Ngao, such a famous limestone grotto in the northern mountain province of Cao Bang because of its distinctiveness and scale. Go for a boat trip on the Ba Be lake – one of the biggest natural lake in Vietnam. Lastly, stop at Thai Nguyen tea plantation and ride on a winding dike road along Red river, getting back to Hanoi.

Day 1 : Ha Noi – Lao cai by night train

We take the night train from Ha Noi to Lao Cai.

Day 2 : Lao Cai - Ride To Bac Ha market and Xin Man (B) - 150km

On your arrival in Lao Cai station in the morning. We have breakfast there and prepare for your motorbike trip to discover the Noth East region of Viet Nam. In this day, we will cross some mountain passes to get to the most beautiful traditional market in Bac Ha. Bac Ha makes a relaxed base to explore the northern highlands and hill-tribe villages. There are 11 hill-tribe groups that live around Bac Ha: the colourful Flower H’mong are the most visible, but other groups include Dzao, Giay (Nhang), Han (Hoa), Xa Fang, Lachi, Nung, Phula, Tay, Thai and Thulao. And they just come down to bac Ha market on every Sunday. The atmosphere is very different to other ones, Bac Ha is an excellent destination for yout visit. After your visit here , continue visit the old Palace of King H’Mong before have lunch. After that, we keep riding to Xinman– a quiet town of Ha Giang. We stay in a little peaceful guesthouse and safe energy for the next great motorcycle ride to Ha Giang.

Day 3 : Xin Man – Ha Giang (B) - 160 km

One of the highlight of this trip is riding on bike on this road from Xin Man to Ha Giang via Hoang Su Phi. We’ll try the difficult off-road motorbike ride to Hoang Su Phi where is famous for its rice fields terraces, especially on the road between Hoang Su Phi and Xin Man, where those terraces are classified as a National Heritage by the Vietnamese Government. The beautiful rice terrace fields and bumpy rugged roads are the things you can get for today but the nearly 30kms close to Ha Giang is easier on the smooth road. We can be in Ha Giang arrond 5.00pm, check in hotel in Ha Giang.

Day 4 : Ha Giang – Dong Van (B) - 150 km

One of the best parts of this this trip is from Ha Giang to Dong Van . It has the most beautiful view of mountains in North East of Vietnam, the imposing view of the rock plateau won’t disappoint any motorcyclists, we can stop to take picture every meters of the way, beside we can take some visits to the local hill tribes villages such as Lo Lo or Hmong people to learn more about their culture and the difficulties of their lifetime. Don’t miss the Old Palace of King Hmong before getting to Dong Van. We will be in Dong Van arround 5.00 pm. Check in hotel in Dong Van.

Day 5 : Dong Van – Meo Vac – Tinh Tuc - Cao Bang (B) - 180 km

After breakfast in Dong Van, we can have a walk around the town to see colorful market or visit some interesting ancient houses those were built around 200 years ago. On this day, the first amazing thing you get is the beauty of the Ma Pi Leng pass – one of the longest and most beautiful passes in North East of Vietnam. It is hard to describe in words what standing on this road feels like.. The sheer scale can’t be captured in a single or any amount of photographs. There is so much detail arranged beautifully across these impressive mountains.
Keep riding to Meo Vac and contiue to Niem Son, Bao Lac. Lunch in Bao Lac and be on the not easy road to Cao Bang via Tinh Tuc; Nguyen Binh towns but the landscape is so beautiful with the villages, markets, high mountain and river. All are great for your trip. We will be in Cao Bang arround 6.00 pm. Check in hotel in Cao Bang.

Day 6 : Cao Bang – Quang Uyen (B) - 60 km

After breakfast, back on the bikes then start the motorcycle ride along the snake road to the villages of Nung people. We have chance to visit the traditional village here where the local people keep living very traditionally. After this day, you can know how the make incense, paper, farming implement without all modern machines. The trekking thru the village to village is also a great thing that you have today.
We can be in Quang Uyen arround 4.00pm. the quiet town surrounded by some rustic villages of the Tay and Nung people . Do a home stay with local family.

Day 7 : Quang Uyen – Ban Gioc – Cao Bang (B) - 160 km

On this day, we’ll ride straight up to the North to the border between Vietnam and China where we take a visit to the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam – Ban Gioc waterfall. It is one of Viet Nam’s best-known waterfalls, the falls is fed by the Quay Son River that marks the border with China, are an impressive sight and in a highly scenic location. After visit this waterfall, we continue our trip to Nguom Ngao, an astonishing cave with numerous formations, is the most famous limestone grotto in the northern mountain province of Cao Bang due to its distinctiveness and scale.
Today we will have a late lunch in Trung Khanh town before riding back to Cao Bang. We will be back in cao Bang arround 5.00pm, check in hotel.

Day 8 : Cao Bang – Ba Be (B) - 150 km

It’s an easy riding day, almost on the smooth road. We do not expect for the off road riding but the landscpae on the way we go is beautiful. It is good day to whom may love photo capture. We will be in Ba Be arround 2.00pm for a boat trip on the Ba Be lake – one of the biggest natural lake in Vietnam. After a long motorbike tour, the relaxing time on the lake is wonderful. After a joyful day, we will have a warm dinner and stay at the village of hill tribe who live nearby the lake in Pac Ngoi.

Day 9 : Ba Be National Park – Thai Nguyen tea plantation - Ha Noi (B) - 250 km

The short off-road motorbike ride through the villages nearby the lakes, we’ll try to be away from the busy roads as long as possible. The tea plantation in Thai Nguyen is great stop for you to visit and learn how the Vietnamese people making the green tea. After getting down close to Hanoi we’ll ride on the winding dike road along the Red river to get back to Hanoi. We will end the great trip ride at 6:00 pm in Hanoi.
