Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Hanoi for check-in. After some time to relax, enjoy a traditional Water Puppet Show in the late afternoon.

Water puppetry is a unique Vietnamese traditional art form that originated from rural festivals in the Red River Delta. Performers stand waist-deep in water, skillfully controlling wooden puppets that appear to dance, talk, and glide across the water’s surface, accompanied by traditional folk music.

After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up to begin a full-day exploration of Hanoi – Vietnam’s thousand-year-old capital. The tour starts at the Ho Chi Minh Complex, including Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, the Stilt House and Ho Chi Minh Museum, offering meaningful insight into the life and legacy of Vietnam’s revered leader.

The highlight of the morning is a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, located at Ba Dinh Square, where President Ho Chi Minh’s body is preserved. The mausoleum is open in the morning from Tuesday to Thursday and at weekends only.

Continue to the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House, built in 1958, reflecting his modest lifestyle and simple philosophy of life during his final years.

Nearby stands the iconic One Pillar Pagoda, an architectural symbol of Hanoi, designed to resemble a lotus rising from a tranquil pond. The pagoda dates back to the 11th century and is associated with a legend of the Goddess of Mercy during the Ly Dynasty.

Next, visit the Temple of Literature, recognized as Vietnam’s first national university, where visitors gain insight into the country’s long-standing tradition of education and respect for scholars.

In the afternoon, explore the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, dedicated to the cultures and traditions of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups, featuring both indoor exhibitions and an open-air display of traditional ethnic houses. The museum is closed on Mondays.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel for a scenic drive of approximately 65 km from Hanoi to Duong Lam Ancient Village.

Located in Son Tay, Duong Lam is often described as an open-air museum of laterite architecture, featuring well-preserved traditional houses dating back 300–400 years. The village reflects the authentic rural life of the Northern Red River Delta, where agriculture remains central to daily living.

Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely walk along village lanes to visit Mong Phu Communal House, followed by temples dedicated to King Ngo Quyen and King Phung Hung, two national heroes of Vietnam.

Lunch is served in a traditional ancient house, where you may also participate in making local specialties such as green-lentil cakes and rice cakes filled with caramelized onion (seasonal availability), and enjoy these homemade treats.

Continue to Mia Pagoda, built in the 15th century, famous for its impressive collection of 287 statues of various sizes and styles.

In the afternoon, transfer back to Hanoi. You will have free time until we escort you to the railway station to board the overnight soft-sleeper, air-conditioned train to Lao Cai / Sapa (departure at approximately 21:00).

Early in the morning, the train arrives in Lao Cai, where a private vehicle awaits to transfer you to Sapa. After breakfast and a short refreshment break, the day begins with a visit to Lao Chai Village, nestled in the heart of the picturesque Muong Hoa Valley.

Enjoy a scenic walk along winding trails through terraced rice fields, gentle streams, and dramatic mountain landscapes. Along the way, visit local homes of the Black H’mong and Dzay ethnic communities to gain insight into their daily life, traditions, and cultural heritage. The peaceful surroundings and warm hospitality create an authentic highland experience.

Continue trekking to Ta Van Village, where nature and traditional village life blend harmoniously. Take a break and enjoy a home-cooked lunch at a local house, featuring simple yet flavorful regional dishes.

In the afternoon, return to Sapa town. The remainder of the day is free at leisure to explore at your own pace — stroll through the local market, discover colorful handmade brocade products, relax at a café overlooking the mountains, or simply soak in the fresh alpine air.

After breakfast, we set off on a scenic drive of around 100 km through the mountainous landscapes of northern Vietnam to reach the peaceful town of Bac Ha.

Bac Ha is home to the region’s largest and most vibrant ethnic market, held every Sunday morning. Unlike many commercialized markets, Bac Ha Market has retained its original character, where ethnic minority groups such as the Flower H’mong, Tay, Phu La, and Dao gather in colorful traditional costumes to socialize, trade local products, and share cups of traditional corn wine.

Upon arrival, take time to wander through the lively market, observing daily life, traditional crafts, livestock trading, and the warm interactions among local communities. The atmosphere is energetic, authentic, and rich in cultural identity.

In the afternoon, continue the journey to Thac Ba Lake, one of Vietnam’s largest man-made lakes, known for its calm waters and scattered islands. Check in to a traditional stilt house by the lakeside, where you can relax and enjoy the tranquil natural surroundings.

Thac Ba Lake, the largest man-made lake in Vietnam, enchants travelers with its serene waters, unspoiled landscapes, and over 300 lush green islands scattered across the lake.

Enjoy a boat cruise on the lake, stopping to visit Dzao and Tay ethnic villages, where you gain insight into traditional lifestyles and local culture. After lunch at a local restaurant, the journey through Vietnam’s Northwest gradually comes to an end.

Early morning transfer to Hanoi airport for flight to Dong Hoi. Arrive in Dong Hoi in the morning, have breakfast, then drive to visit Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park.

Located in Quang Binh Province, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site in 2003. The area is renowned for its spectacular karst landscapes and remarkable cave systems.

Board a boat and cruise along the world’s longest underground river to Phong Nha Cave. The deeper you venture inside, the more magical the scenery becomes. After traveling about 700 meters by boat, a vast dry passage appears, allowing you to walk a further 500 meters to explore the cave’s stunning formations. You will also discover the remaining Cham altars and inscriptions hidden inside the cave.

On the second day, we set out to explore the magnificent Paradise Cave, one of the most impressive cave systems in the world.

Discovered in 2005 by the British Cave Research Association, Paradise Cave is renowned for its vast chambers, dramatic stalactites, and pristine natural beauty. Stretching deep into the limestone mountains, the cave resembles a breathtaking underground masterpiece, often compared to a natural art gallery formed over millions of years.

After the cave visit, continue the journey southward with a transfer to Hue. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and enjoy free time to relax.

Once the imperial capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen Dynasty, Hue is celebrated for its elegant citadels, royal palaces, ancient tombs, and sacred pagodas. The city’s tranquil atmosphere and enduring traditions give Hue its timeless and romantic charm.

We continue our journey to discover Hue’s most iconic landmarks, starting with a scenic boat cruise on the Perfume River to visit the elegant Thien Mu Pagoda, also known as the Heavenly Lady Pagoda.

Dating back to 1601, Thien Mu Pagoda is one of Hue’s oldest and most important religious sites. Set against a tranquil riverside landscape, the pagoda offers a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful views that perfectly reflect the spiritual soul of Hue.

Next, disembark for a visit to the impressive Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, regarded as the most poetic royal mausoleum of the Nguyen Dynasty. Designed by the emperor himself, the complex blends architecture, gardens, lakes, and pavilions, stretching gracefully along the Perfume River.

Return to the city center for lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, explore the majestic Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City, the former political and ceremonial heart of imperial Vietnam. Built in the 19th century, this UNESCO-listed complex is surrounded by massive walls and includes three distinct enclosures: the Citadel, the Imperial City, and the Forbidden Purple City.

If time allows, enjoy a short walk through Dong Ba Market, where you can browse local specialties and souvenirs unique to Hue.

After breakfast, we continue our journey south by road to Hoi An, passing through some of the most scenic landscapes of Central Vietnam.

En route, stop at the picturesque Lang Co Beach for coffee and refreshments before ascending the spectacular Hai Van Pass, where breathtaking views stretch north to Lang Co Beach and south to Da Nang City.

Upon reaching Da Nang, visit the Cham Museum, followed by stops at the famous China Beach and the mystical Marble Mountains.

Arrival in Hoi An, we have our first glimpse of this charming boutique town recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The tranquil charm of Hoi An, with its low tiled Chinese-style houses, iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, and colorful riverside market, makes it one of Vietnam’s most delightful destinations.

Begin the day with a visit to My Son Sanctuary, an ancient Cham religious complex dating back to the 4th century.

Nestled in a lush green valley, My Son features the most significant and well-preserved Cham ruins in Vietnam. This sacred site once served as an important spiritual and political center of the Champa Kingdom, offering valuable insight into the history, architecture, and culture of the Cham civilization.

Return to Hoi An for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Thu Bon River to Thanh Ha Ceramic Village, where traditional pottery techniques have been passed down through generations. Observe local artisans crafting jars, bowls, and vases entirely by hand.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before beginning your afternoon city exploration.

The tour starts with a drive past the former American Embassy site, followed by a visit to the iconic Reunification Palace. Built as the residence and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War, the palace is renowned for its distinctive architecture and peaceful green surroundings, offering insight into a pivotal chapter of the country’s history.

Continue to discover Saigon’s French colonial heritage with stops at the Old Saigon Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral. These landmarks showcase elegant European-inspired architecture, highlighted by red-brick façades, stained-glass windows, and refined interior details.

Next, visit the War Remnants Museum, which presents powerful exhibits and historical artifacts documenting the American War and its lasting impact on Vietnam.

Conclude the day at the lively Ben Thanh Market, where you can browse local handicrafts, souvenirs, textiles, and street food specialties.

After breakfast, we set off for a full-day excursion to Tay Ninh Province, home to the unique Cao Dai Holy See.

Cao Dai is a distinctly Vietnamese religion that blends elements of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Christianity, and Islam. Visitors may observe the daily prayer ceremonies held inside the colorful main temple, offering a fascinating insight into local spiritual life. Tay Ninh is also known as the gateway to Ba Den Mountain, an important pilgrimage site in southern Vietnam.

In the afternoon, we continue to the renowned Cu Chi Tunnels, located about 70 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. This vast underground network played a crucial role during the American War and now stands as a powerful symbol of resilience and ingenuity. Walking through the site provides a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s wartime history and local life underground.

After breakfast, depart for the Mekong Delta, where we board a local riverboat to cruise along the peaceful waterways of southern Vietnam. Known as the country’s “rice bowl,” the Mekong Delta is a fertile region of rice paddies, orchards, and canals, sustaining millions of local residents.

Visit Tortoise Island, stroll through lush fruit gardens, and taste fresh tropical fruits. Enjoy a short ride by horse cart through a quiet village, then continue by rowing sampan along narrow coconut-lined canals to observe daily life along the river. Stop at a coconut candy workshop in Ben Tre to learn about this traditional local craft.

Lunch is served at a riverside restaurant, followed by a visit to a garden homestay, where you gain insight into Mekong Delta culture. Join local farmers to experience simple fishing techniques and learn how to prepare traditional regional dishes.

In the afternoon, continue to Can Tho for overnight stay.

Located in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Can Tho is famous for Ninh Kieu Wharf, vibrant floating markets, and its warm, welcoming atmosphere, offering a perfect introduction to life along Vietnam’s great river.

Wake up early to the gentle rhythms of the Mekong Delta as the river comes alive for a new day. After breakfast, board a local boat for a scenic cruise along the waterways of the Mighty Mekong River to visit Cai Rang Floating Market.

This is the largest and most vibrant floating market in the region, where boats trade fresh fruits and local specialties directly on the river. You may also enjoy a simple Vietnamese breakfast such as pho or coffee served right on the water, offering an authentic glimpse into daily river life.

After lunch at a local restaurant, return to Ho Chi Minh City by road (approximately 3.5 hours).

Overnight in Saigon.

Today is free at leisure until the scheduled transfer to the airport for your departure flight home.
